2000 |
Once upon a time there were two crazy lads (professional
Business English trainers) who decided to join forces and create a
company called Geeport. |
2002 |
A very patient lady named Ulrike joined to help with the paper
work. Helen Warner joined as a trainer. Clients doubled. |
2004 |
The partners split the company in two and remain very good
friends. Andrew started A&M Training. Helen Warner became Director of
Studies. Mirija Porteous took over finance. The new A&M started to grow. |
2006 |
Tim Scarisbrick joined as Business Manager. The company decided
upon a virtual office and more personal company contact. Clients doubled. |
2007 |
As Helen Warner heads back to her homeland in New Zealand, Petra Charpentier joins
A&M as Director of Studies. |
A&M aims to become one of the top three companies in Germany regarding quality standards. That means we seek to tailor our services to companies regarding business English, soft skills and intercultural communication.
This is accomplished through qualified, motivated trainers with a spirit of service.
We value results which are quantifiable and will continuously seek to improve service to both our trainers and clients.
The values of A&M Training are what our company makes decisions by, what we seek to live up to, and what we consider as guiding principles. At any time we can encourage each other with these principles, remind each other of these principles, or communicate these principles in any way with each other or our extended team.
As St. Francis of Assisi said “Preach always- use words if necessary”
We are proactive
We take responsibility
We do business with integrity
We build and maintain relationships
We rise above customer expectations
We give generously to charity and others
We grow naturally and in a controlled manner
“A & M Language Training sets specific goals at the beginning of the course with the client, and these are then tested by our skills audit system.”
A & M Language Training strives to provide quality training for our clients. To achieve this quality we set clear goals with our clients at the beginning of the course so that we can tailor-make the courses for those specific needs. Therefore we do not have any set material. A fixed number of teaching units in which these goals are to be achieved is also agreed upon with the client. At the end of the teaching units these goals are tested by our skills audit system. The skills audit assesses whether the goals have been accomplished, and is held by an external trainer to avoid any bias.
We back up our audit test system with two quality checks – one after the first four weeks to make sure the course is being tailored to the specific needs of the client, and one at the end of the course to help us improve our training.
We also pride ourselves in hiring only the best trainers who are highly experienced, normally with at least two years experience in teaching Business English.
